To obtain an OSSD to move on to post secondary institutions with success takes some serious planning. You need to research your post-secondary plans and select the courses that will prepare you for those post-secondary destinations. Select the proper courses now and avoid the problem of trying to change into a course later only to find out it is already full.

All grade 12 students should make sure that Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements are being met in order to graduate

• 30 credits including 18 compulsory credits
• Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test(OSSLT)
• 40 hours (minimum) of community service, if enrolled later then grade 9 the number of hours need to be complete is evaluated by the principal.

Students planning to apply to University need 6 4U/4M credits with a minimum of 80% student average and a 70% or higher in ENG4U to be considered for basic programs.

Students planning to apply to College need ENG4C or ENG4U. As many 4U/4M credits the student can obtain the more competitive the application is.
