Our courses use a 5 character code for identification, which are set out by the Ministry of Education.
Example: SCH 4U
These letters, SCH 4U, identify the subject. The first letter tells you the department area and the two other letters tell you the specific course under that subject. (CH- chemistry)
A = Arts
B = Business
C = Canadian & World Studies
E = English
F = French
G = Guidance & Career Education
H = Humanities & Social Sciences
I = Interdisciplinary Studies
L = International Languages
M = Mathematics
P = Physical & Health Education
S = Sciences
T = Technology
The number, SCH 4U, indicates the grade level.
1 = grade 9 2 = grade 10 3 = grade 11 4 = grade 12
The last letter, SCH4U, identifies the type of course.

L = Locally Developed
Grades 11 & 12
U = University Preparation
C = College Preparation
